University Libraries - Electronic Resources/Collection Development Librarian - Tenure Track

Position Summary & Description
The IUP Libraries at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning August 2018.
The successful candidate will coordinate the development, maintenance, and assessment of the IUP Libraries' print and electronic collections, collaborate with both library and subject faculty to identify and select electronic and print materials to support IUP's academic and research mission, and engage in scholarship and service to the Department, the Library and the University.
Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-Accredited institution; a second master's degree or other advanced degree is required by the time of tenure.
Experience working with library electronic resources, physical collections, and interacting with publishers and library vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) or more years of experience working in collection development and/or electronic resources in an academic library setting or in a library vendor environment.
A second advanced degree in an academic subject area.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with current trends and best practices in library collection development, electronic resource acquisition, and related work.
Familiarity with library integration systems, especially Alma/Primo.
Experience working as a bibliographer and/or working with subject faculty to develop collections and advise and support liaison activities.
An established record of accomplishment in librarianship, scholarship, and service.

The work of this position occurs in a typical office environment. Although infrequent, periods of heavy exertion may occur. Incumbent must have the following abilities:
Ability to travel to field locations and meeting/training sites by motor vehicle when required.
Communicate both orally and in writing to issue, receive and carry out instructions and orders effectively and to convey information to a variety of co-workers and the general public.
Use a variety of common office machines such as telephones, calculators, copiers, computer terminals, keyboards, video display terminals, auxiliary printers and similar equipment.
Perform manual duties such as lifting and carrying various weight limits.
Operate office equipment which may require stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching and prolonged standing.
Provide assistance and guidance to internal and external customers.
Follow oral and written instructions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
