Summary
The Department of Communications Media at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications for anticipated part-time, temporary faculty position for the 2018-2019 Academic Year.
Duties
Serves as Director of the Center for Media Production and Research providing project coordination, interfacing with clients, handling project finances, recruiting and overseeing student employees and practicum students and managing department and center equipment. Teaches COMM 360 Digital Sports Production and other Communications Media production courses, as needed. Provide departmental service including such items as serving on departmental committees, assisting with departmental projects and activities, advising students and assisting in recruitment efforts. This position requires some evening and/or weekend hours.

Required Qualifications
A master's degree and additional studies toward a Ph.D. degree in Communications Media or closely related field is required. Prior experience and graduate coursework in media management, production processes and production coordination is required. Experience with remote sports production and live sports production is required. Ability to work effectively with faculty, students and clients is required.
Essential Functions
The work of this position occurs in a typical office environment. Although infrequent, periods of heavy exertion may occur. Incumbent must have the following abilities:
Ability to travel to field locations and meeting/training sites by motor vehicle when required.
Communicate both orally and in writing to issue, receive and carry out instructions and orders effectively and to convey information to a variety of co-workers and the general public.
Use a variety of common office machines such as telephones, calculators, copiers, computer terminals, keyboards, video display terminals, auxiliary printers and similar equipment.
Perform manual duties such as lifting and carrying various weight limits.
Operate office equipment which may require stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching and prolonged standing.
Provide assistance and guidance to internal and external customers.
Follow oral and written instructions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
