Nursing and Allied Health Professions - Temporary Faculty - Respiratory Care

Position Summary & Description
The Respiratory Care Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications for anticipated full-time and/or part time temporary positions at the Instructor and Assistant Professor level for Spring 2019. IUP offers a CoARC accredited program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care, within the department of Nursing and Allied Health Professions. The successful candidate(s) will be assigned to the Northpointe regional campus, and may be assigned to work at off campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education.
Duties
The successful candidate(s) will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses throughout the curriculum (including instruction in the didactic, laboratory, and clinical setting), engage in scholarly work in the field and participate in related university and community services.
Position Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in respiratory care.
Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.
Have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
Preferred
Master's degree in a related discipline.
An established record of accomplishment in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Candidates must have good communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.
Essential Functions
The work of this position occurs in a typical office environment. Although infrequent, periods of heavy exertion may occur. Incumbent must have the following abilities:
Ability to travel to field locations and meeting/training sites by motor vehicle when required.
Communicate both orally and in writing to issue, receive and carry out instructions and orders effectively and to convey information to a variety of co-workers and the general public.
Use a variety of common office machines such as telephones, calculators, copiers, computer terminals, keyboards, video display terminals, auxiliary printers and similar equipment.
Employee must be able to observe and react to hazard warnings, backup alarms, flashing lights, voice commands and hand signals.
Perform manual duties such as lifting and carrying various weight limits.
Operate office equipment which may require stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching and prolonged standing.
Provide assistance and guidance to internal and external customers.
Follow oral and written instructions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
